I am an employer - how do I obtain an AccessManitoba online account?

  1. An employer or employer representative needs to set up a user name and password and then create an individual AccessManitoba profile.
  2. Contact Apprenticeship Manitoba at 204-945-3337 or toll free at 1-877-978-7233 to see if your business information has already been entered in AccessManitoba due to previous dealings with the Participating Programs.
  3. If your business information exists in the system, Apprenticeship Manitoba staff will link your individual profile and the business. You are now the primary contact person for the business.
NOTE: The primary contact person is the only representative of the business who can change the address, phone number and other business information online.

My credit card was declined while registering for technical training, and I lost my seat in the course. Why?

Technical training course registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you select a course and your credit card is declined, it is possible that someone else may take the seat you were trying to reserve. This will happen whether you apply in person or online. It is important to ensure there are sufficient funds on the credit card and the credit card information is entered accurately.

Check back online to see if more seats open up. Apprenticeship Manitoba does not maintain a wait or cancellation list.

What if I do not have a credit card?

You can buy a prepaid Visa or MasterCard at a bank to complete an online purchase. Be sure to buy the credit card for the full amount required. Online purchases must be made using one credit card number. All major banks offer this service (TD Canada Trust, Royal Bank, Scotiabank, CIBC, Bank of Montreal). Not all credit unions accommodate this request. Please check directly with your preferred financial institution or one of the banks listed above. Alternatively, you can pay for services in person or by mail. See FAQ What are my payment options?

What are my payment options?

  • In person: You can pay with a credit card (Visa/MasterCard only), cash, cheque, money order or Interac.
  • By mail: You can pay with credit card (Visa/MasterCard only), cheque or money order.
  • Online or by phone*: You can pay with a credit card (Visa/MasterCard only).

For details on obtaining a prepaid credit card please see FAQ What if I do not have a credit card?

*Apprenticeship Manitoba applications cannot be paid for on the phone.

I am an employer and I want to pay for my apprentice's technical training. How do I do that?

Only apprentices can register and pay for technical training online. As an employer, you can still cover the costs of technical training by having your apprentice register into technical training and remit their receipt to you so you can reimburse them through your company's payroll processes. Alternatively, you can buy a prepaid VISA or MasterCard (What if I do not have a credit card?) at a financial institution on their behalf so that they can complete the purchase online. As you cannot access your apprentice's profile directly, you cannot register for or on behalf of the apprentice online; only by phone, mail or in-person at Apprenticeship Manitoba.

I am an employer with several apprentices. In the past I have always been able to register them for the same class by registering in person at Apprenticeship Manitoba. Can I still do this?

Yes, however, a separate payment and separate application is required for each apprentice that you register. Note that not only are Apprenticeship Manitoba staff accessing the available courses, they are using the same system that apprentices themselves are accessing to register online for courses. There is no guarantee that your entire list of apprentices will be accommodated if certain class offerings are in high demand. We recommend expanding your list to include multiple class offerings into which your apprentices can be scheduled, just in case Apprenticeship Manitoba staff cannot get them into their "first-choice" offering.

I am registered with Apprenticeship Manitoba and cannot login and/or register for technical training.

You may have created a profile and/or a profile may have been created for you by Apprenticeship Manitoba. To get access to the correct profile that is linked to training information please email the AccessManitoba help desk at AccessManitoba@gov.mb.ca. It’s also a good idea to review the section "What’s New: Technical Training Course Registration" to ensure your eligibility.
